1905 Postcard: Detroit Campus Martius This is a very early postcard. Picture postcards first came out around 1890-1895. In this card there are NO CARS, only horses and buggies and intraurban street cars. This card has no message or postage on the back, but in a margin on the front it says, "View from our hotel window 8/22-24/05". We think the picture itself dates to the 1890's. City Hall is on the left.

1908 This is an early joke postcard. Picture postcards first came out around 1890-1895. This card shows an open touring car with a man lying under it and the caption, "WHILE IN __________ I RAN ACROSS AN OLD FRIEND OF YOURS". This card has a message and a 1-cent stamp with a date of March 12, and the year is hard to make out but we are pretty sure it is 1908.

1908 Postcard: Detroit Hotel Cadillac This is a very early postcard. Picture postcards first came out around 1890-1895. In this card there are ladies in the ultra-full dresses of the turn of the century. This card has the message on the front, with 1-cent postage on the back with a 1908 postmark, and in a margin on the front it says, "Having a great time--expect to go to Flint tomorrow". We think the picture itself dates to the 1890's or very early 1900's.

1910 Postcard: Detroit City Hall-West This is a very early postcard. Picture postcards first came out around 1890-1895. In this card there are NO CARS, only horses and buggies and intra-urban street cars. This card has a message and 1-cent postage and 1910 postmark on the back and on the front it says, "Bird's Eye View looking west from City Hall: Detroit". We think the picture itself dates to the 1890's. City Hall is in the foreground.

This card shows an open touring car with a giant question mark showing all the added bills of car ownership. I see that nothing has changed. This card has a message and a 1-cent stamp with a date of May 9, 1911.

1918 Postcard: Picture postcards first came out around 1890-1895. This card shows an eight story Ford building with a huge billboard on the roof that says, "Welcome Visitors: Watch The Fords Go By". The title of the card says, "Ford Service Station, Boulevard and Woodward Ave, Detroit, Mich". This card has a message on the back and a 2-cent stamp. The postmark is May 10, 1918.

It doesn't say who made the bus body, and even the fact it is a Reo chassis is because the old retired Oldsmobile worker told us it was Reo. Note that the window guards are dropped down in this picture.

1932 Booklet: United Motors Service This 22-page booklet is about the size of a postcard and is titled, "A TRIP THROUGH OUR SERVICE STATION". It touts the products manufactured under the GM umbrella of United Motors Service: AC Spark Plug in Flint, MI; Delco Products of Dayton, OH; Delco Battery in Muncie IN; Delco-Remy in Anderson, IN. This booklet was handed out at service and repair shops authorized as United Motors Service Stations. This would make a great glovebox item for your early/mid 1930's car.

This binder contains a lot of info. A manual like this is a wonderful addition to any collection, all in a "White" binder.
